And those who have doubts only remember what happened with the donation of the Chinese company Ali Baba, which tries unsuccessfully to send supplies to our country.
A lot of countries received the generous Chinese donation for more than a week, but Cuba, due to the work and disgrace of the blockade, has not yet been able to receive even one of those masks, let alone protective gowns or respirators. .
Even the donation just sent by the Chinese government had to overcome some obstacles to get to Havana. The truth is that not even the pandemic has loosened the hard heart of a blockade that ignores a growing international clamor.
Neither medicine nor food
MEDICUBA, the company that imports medical products, has a long list of refusals from foreign companies that, fearful of the extraterritorial effects of the blockade, denied requests for Cuban purchases.
Sometimes, when after many efforts it is possible to agree with the suppliers, then the problems come with the freight, because there is no one who wants to reach our country.
Something similar happens with food, although the State Department fills its mouth to say that the sale is authorized, but hides that it is carried out under onerous conditions that require paying in cash, and bringing them on boats that for half a year cannot return to touch American ports.
And all that continues to happen in the midst of this pandemic, a health crisis that makes the blockade more genocidal than ever.
