As Cuba faces the challenge of protecting its population from COVID-19 and dealing with the economic impacts of the economic blockade imposed by the United States, right-wing activists supported by the US have scaled up attacks on the island. Amid the intensification of attacks against Cuba and the critical humanitarian situation, over 400 political leaders, activists, and artists around the world signed a letter addressed to US President Joe Biden demanding an end to coercive measures on Cuba.
