Cuban vaccine candidate Soberana 01 appears in the Covid-19 vaccine tracker on the US newspaper The New York Times website, Infomed reported today.
According to Infomed (Cuba´s Health Network), the US newspaper registers 37 vaccines in human clinical trials and around 91 preclinical ones that are under active investigation in animals.
Updated on September 4 (for the last time), this interactive tool also includes general descriptions of different treatments and drugs to fight the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
The Cuban vaccine candidate remains top priorities of the Cuban scientific community, which constantly assesses the results of its clinical trials.
Yury Valdes, deputy director of the Finlay Vaccine Institute, reported that after vaccinating the second 20-volunteer group in the trial, aged between 60 and 80 years, the candidate’s safety was verified by the country’s drug regulatory institution.
On Twitter, Yury Valdes published that ‘after 40 vaccinated subjects, Soberana 01 continues on the path of proving its safety.’
